Day 2 Post Op

wowzers I feel like I have been hit by a bus! I may have underestimated my laparoscopy just a tad. They did quite alot of treatment for my stage 4 endo so I guess I just need to be super patient! Managed to get in n out of bed on my own today. Feel a bit guilty having to ask poor DH for everything! How has your recovery been?

It's only the second day, so you've done well!!

They'll have removed loads, so take it easy as your body inside will be recovering and healing. It looks like little holes on the outside but it's actually a massive op. All that stuff that was causing that much pain has been removed; give it time, at first it will feel like it hasn't gone; the body can't tell the difference between endo pain and removed endo pain.

My recovery was the same as yours; I felt completely wiped out. Don't worry about asking your oh for help with things; you're accepting you need help so that's good

It took two weeks for the pain to wear off so I could walk around normally. It took a further week for me to feel less exhausted; just going for a walk tired me out and made me dizzy. The bloating from the gases went in the first five days, so that helped me feel soooo much better.

Just take it easy but do keep moving around like you are. Shuffle to the sofa for the day, try not to sleep in your bed all day as that will mess up your body clock. I actually found sitting curled up on the sofa was more comfortable than the bed!

I definately underestimated my recovery but its a relief to listen to other women who have gone through this as well. Its not easy and its a shame that unless you know someone whos gone through this or you experience it yourself, not many people know about Endometriosis. Iv had to google so much myself! 3 weeks ago, I had no idea what it was. Heres to all my sisters standing strong! #1in10 x
