Hi all,

As mentioned earlier I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries at 23 and had chronic pain pretty much since then. I had a lap in 2016 which showed no symptoms of endometrosis but despite this I continued to have chronic pelvic pain and all the other symptoms of endo. Shortly after I had a MRI which revealed nothing so I moved to a specialist for further advice and they have been very proactive and sent me for another MRI which has revealed I have scarring between my vagina and bowel which is endometrosis and both consultants are going to discuss the option of surgery for me with a review of what I think in a few months. I’m absolutely devastated as I know this is the severe form of endo and I so badly want children in the future. Now having polycystic ovaries and deep endometrosis I just feel so deflated and low ☹️. It’s my dream to have children and I dont think I will be able to cope if this doesnt happen for me. Does anyone know what the chances of me having a baby are and if this type of endometrosis rare? Any advice or motivation would really help as I am struggling to cope with the results. X

Hi hun.

First of all sorry your having a hard time. I have bad pcos too and waiting for lap next week for endo.

I tried for 5 years to get pregnant. I was on every hormone going. The monthly disappointments were horrid. It turned out I had to have spinal opp and there for had to come off all Meds. So I forgot about trying for a baby and stopped stressing over it. I went for follow up x ray to be told I was pregnant. My little girl is now 6!!!

So don't get down about it. Although it may be harder to get pregnant it can happen. I think all the tablets and stress was causing the problem in my case and was not helping. Could not belive I fell pregnant with no help. Also before my spinal surgery I went on a diet and got down to a healthy weight and lost 2 stone. I also think that helped as being over weight makes pcos worse .

So never give up on your dreams of having a baby. Xxx

Hi Elle90, I have pcos and had ovarian diathermy and removal of adhesions on my womb and ovaries to help me get pregnant when I was 26. After a couple of different treatments- clomid etc I had ovulation induction injections which resulted in my wonderful twin boys when I was 29 . I still have issues and currently am waiting on more surgery with possibility of needing an ovary removed but there's lots of options out there for fertility treatment (and all on the NHS!) Sending you a hug xx
