Has anybody ever had a lap done at a BMI hospital under the nhs? It’s been nearly 3 weeks since I first saw a gynaecologist who has said I will need a lap done and a consultant will be in touch with me, I know there is a long waiting list but I don’t know whether it’s worth giving them a call to see what’s going on?
Thanks

Hello, I had my first lap at BMI Bath, my gynae opened his diary and booked me in for a lap 4 weeks after my fist appointment. With the power of hindsight I regret having surgery done by a gynae (not specialist) as he ended up using diathermy/laser and I was in the same pain only weeks later. I only wished he'd done a diagnostic as I'm convinced that surgery made me worse. Maybe speak to the secretary and see if you can get an update. Wishing you all the best xx
I was operated on in a BMI hospital, my surgical experience was dreadful because of my surgeon, but the hospital it’s self was lovely and the staff were so kind, i was operated on through the NHS and it took about 6 weeks from consultation to op. Only regret is I wish I’d had the surgery done with an endo specialist and make sure they are a bsge registered specialist and aren’t just saying they are! Fingers crossed and good luck hun x
Thank you mcmbx I called them in the end and they are still waiting for the go ahead from funding for my sterilisation at the same time! Hopefully it won’t be too much longer and they don’t refuse due to the nhs cuts! X
