How long does it take for Zoledex to leave the body?

My last Zoledex injection has finished, can anyone tell me how long did it take for symptoms to return after they stopped it? I just want to be prepared

Hi! Hope you are well. I stopped taking zoladex in September. I don't have periods anyway because i had a ablation but i have had all the symptoms of having a period from about the start of December. My hot flushes etc took about a month to wear off. Unfortunately all of the pain is back with a vengeance too and i regret having taking it. All of the other side effects i had are still happening. Everyone is different. I know it can takes months for people to have periods again and some people continue to be pain free for months.

Thank you for replying, you’ve triggered a memory that when I stopped them last time the pain was more intense when it returned and it didn’t take that long either :(. I’ve got a family wedding in April and hen/stags are in the next 2 months so a little worried. I’ve already started to get some mild pain and it was only due on Tuesday but not sure if I’m imagining it or if it’s because I’m so tense. I’m meant to be starting on a very very low dose of Amitriptyline but because I’m having panic attacks I’ve had to hold off so that I can treat them first. Hopefully in the long run it will work but I think I need to be prepared. Sorry for rambling x

Hi Bluetit you aren't rambling at all so no worries! I wish someone had warned me that the pain is sometimes worse. Hope you get on top of things soon. Such an awful disease. It is hard when u have had pain relief to suddenly feel like you can't plan anything agan or are scared to go out because of pain. Have serious depresson anyway and get very very low. I wasn't warned that zoladex should be prescribed wth caution in these cases. Sat with my hot water bottle ths morning. Sending you best wishes x

It took a Month after my last injection for my period to restart. I had had the coil put in so wasnt bleeding but i was still having a cycle. It was worse pain but due to the coil. Life was better when it came out but another cyst formed.

Everyone is different.
