Hi ladies. I'm due to have my lap for severe endo in a few weeks. The day before, I have to do a bowel prep. Any advice on how my diet should be before this happens?
Also, did any of you gain or lose weight after your laparscopy?
Thanks in advance xx

They will send you a letter with allowed foods and not allowed foods and a timetable of what and how much to eat when and the bowel prep sachets. This is a photo of mine.
I lost weight but only because I developed viral meningitis.
You should follow 3 days of a low residue diet which is basically white bread, cheese, and cornflakes. No fruit and veg and no fibre. If you get constipated generally or because of this it is worth taking senna or something like that to make sure you keep things moving on these days as it will make the prep easier. You can also drink at your own pace - you don't have to drink at the speed it says if you can't manage it. I didn't chill the prep and drank it with lemonade/tango and it was fine.
On the day of the prep, you will need to fast but you can drink. It's OK to play with the timing of the prep (I have done 3 - I always found it took ages to get things moving so I would start at lunchtime so I could get some sleep otherwise I would spend the whole night on the loo). If they have told you to do a split prep and drink some on the morning of the surgery it is vital to make sure you do this. It will stop after about an hour so you can travel.
Use flushable wipes and sudocrem to help stop you from getting sore. It really isn't that bad - you just have to grit your teeth and get it done.
Had no change in weight with the first lap but gained after the second and third but it was due to the constant hormone treatments and then an oophorectomy which has wrecked my metabolism. Hopeful things will improve in time.
