Symptoms matching mine?

I know every case is so different but I just wondered if anyone had symptoms matching mine, as I am pretty sure it's endometriosis.

I've basically been in pain since I was about 16 but after thinking it was all in my head, I finally went to a doctor when I was 18. I've had ultrasounds, CT scans, I had a cystoscopy, changed pills 3 times and am now having a lapo in 4 weeks.

I get really bad pain a week before my period, and the most intense deep period pains (if i don't take a lot of codeine i can't do ANYTHING it's horrific). I get a sharp pain in my right lower side, it feels like a stabbing and like something is tugging or twisted. It hurts when i: cough, sneeze, exercise, move quickly. It often also hurts when i drink a lot of alcohol or need the toilet too.

My cousins both have stage 3 and their fallopian tubes were wrapped round their ovaries. I'm not really sure what to expect with the lapo and I guess I'm nervous about what they will find.

That does all sound like endo to me. One of the worst things about this condition is waiting for a diagnosis. I started having pain when I was 14, and I was 28 before they diagnosed endometriosis.

I would imagine from the pain you’re describing that you have endo growing on your right ovary, but during the laparoscopy they will remove anything they find, and you’ll have a conclusive diagnosis afterwards.

As nervous as you are to hear what they find, I promise you it feels so much better to know. Xx

Hi,

Thanks so much for your message. It really does feel so nice having people saying they've been in the same boat/ understand.

I had an ultrasound and it said that I didn't have anything wrong, so I would have thought it would have shown on the ultrasound if something was on my ovary? I'm not sure how it all works. Yes, I think the anxiety of not knowing is the worst bit. xxx

Your symptoms do sound alot like endo as it gets especialy worse around your period time, i also get pains alot more the week before and the first day is agony can barely move need hot water bottle and pain relief big time, i had both my tubes removed due to end 10 years ago and for the last couple of years iv been suffering again, its believed my endo has retuned an is now latchin on to my bowel, awaitin a colonoscopy and mri scan, its normal to be nervous but hopefully you will get sorted before the real damage starts, all the best.
