Awaiting docs appointment

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum but really am in need of some advice so here goes. I will try not to be too embarrassed when explaining.

I have a docs appointment in 2 weeks to discuss women's issues. I'm on my 2nd mirena coil as I've always suffered with heavy periods, cramps etc. I had the 2nd fitted last September but after a couple of months all these little things started happening and they've just continued growing.

My periods are very short now, 2 days max but still irregular in time between. I have a bloated belly quite a lot, as well as cramps that feel like a dull ache constantly. I also experience pain after sex (sometimes during) and light bleeding that can be on and off for up to a week after, plus my libido is at an all time low. Then there's bowel habits that can't decide of its going to be too difficult or easy to go, often accompanied by period like pain before or sometimes after.

Sorry to go on, it's just getting me down now. I struggle to lose weight, even in an active job and on a reasonable diet, and I feel like what's going on down below is impacting most of my life, including my sex life (fortunately the other half is understanding). From what I've researched endometriosis seems like a possibility but I understand it's a long process to diagnosis sometimes. I don't think it's related to the 2nd coil, I can still locate the strings so it's in place, so is it just a coincidence that I'm noticing it now, or is it hormones changing with age (I'm 30 now)

Any advice would be amazing please!

It could be endometriosis. I have it along with some other unknown problems that will hopefully be solved with yet another surgery this year.

It can be a long tiring process but I don’t think the pain you have is something you should ignore. Bring it up to your doctor.

I’ve been struggling after my first lap with odd pain in my lower right abdomen and I’ve been in and out of the hospital 5 times this past month. It’s hard finding someone who will listen. I must’ve seen over 9 doctors during this time. Finally have two surgeons willing to check me out and will be having surgery after next week.

If you feel you’re being fobbed off, keep pushing. You’re your own best advocate for your health. Don’t give up; someone will listen eventually!

I hope you get the help you need x
