So I have a scan booked for the 9th September and waiting an appointment for gyny.
I have had numerous abnormal results from smears, a lletz procedure. Terrible periods. Bleeding after sex, bleeding in between very irregular periods and bloody discharge. A few months ago I was really struggling with my bowels and the doctor suggested I have ibs. Now my bleeding has escalated and I’m in constant cramping pain. The pain travels to my back and down to my hips. It’s worse at night. Dr finally prescribed me codeine for the pain yesterday. I just want to know do these symptoms seem familiar to you? Was there a time where your cramping became constant rather than just on your period? Symptoms worsened as time went on? I feel it could be endometriosis. I’m 30 have two kids and at the end of my tether. Thanks for reading xx

It could be, but they need to rule out anything cervix related first along with blood tests? What have they done so far?
Is the codine helping at all? What scan have they booked?
So with endometriosis they do tend to waste sometimes years on scans that don’t show endometriosis, the only way to know is to get a lap by a specialist endometriosis surgeon, the general gynaecologist aren’t qualified.
Keep us posted and hope the pain killers work, it’s so hard with children around when you have pain
Has anyone mentioned adenomyosis to you? Everyones pain with endometriosis is different but there is normally a dragging, stabbing, sharp pain. Then cramping and a feeling of bloating. Do you also get intense bloating from nowhere?
Endometriosis is an all body inflammatory disease, so could be causing your IBS symptoms.
Sorry to hear about last night, do you have anything stronger? Are you at a&e level of pains? If you haven’t already hot water bottles and wheat bags are really effective for pain, along with baths and Epsom salts, drinking herbal teas lots of self care and also gentle walking of stretching can help get blood flow and help with cramps.
I was asking about your cervix as I also had CIN cells removed in my 20s and have endometriosis and I’m sure there is some link! And the first thing they ruled out with me was ovarian cancer by doing bloods and checking the markers
I’m getting cramping and a stabbing pain in my left ovary.
I’m not at a n e stage yet thankfully. The gp mentioned endo when she put the referrals in. I also have mefenamic acid so will take that with breakfast.
Hot water bottles are amazing and really do help.
I do get bloating yes.
I’m just a bit at the end of my tether but realise this is only the start of the journey xx
The journey can be cut short with the right surgery don’t worry! So wide excision surgery is gold standard and would remove all endometriosis under the care of a specialist, it is possible to remove the pain and be in remission from endo, if that’s what you have.
And if you a pushy and have access to a good medical team you should t have to suffer for years.
I was lucky to have funds to go privately and had mine removed in June, so I’m on the other side and recovering slowly, but I hope you can find something to control the pain and get seen quickly.
I have a lot of this too. I never have a day without some sort of pain and it did get worse over time. I also have some endo-related IBS symptoms, especially bloating. Definitely push for a laparoscopy as soon as they're satisfied it's nothing too sinister. Good luck 💛
