Pain after lap

So i was diagnosed with Endometriosis and ovarian cysts in August. My cysts were removed and so was my endo, however i am still getting the same pain in the same areas. my pain can reach extremes and i can pass out and each time ive been taken into hospital by ambulance ive been given morphine. i have heard that you can still have pains for up to 6 months after a lap and i was wondering if anyone has had similar pains?

My pain even prior to my lap was not to the level you describe fortunately. I'm six weeks post lap and still having the same pelvic pain and ovulation pain I had before. Also still getting spotting for 3 days at the end of my period and random stabbing pains in my ovaries. The only relief I have found so far is from the back pain I had which is now gone, this was from having a thick band of uteral sacral ligament endo removed. I haven't heard people not getting relief for 6 months. All the stories I have heard are ether people not getting relief at all, or getting relief for a period of time and then the pain coming back, or getting complete and lasting relief. I do hope you are right and other ladies can confirm tho as I am so anxious my op hasn't been a success...although I can live with the level of pain I have if I have to, but the endo is effecting my fertility and was so hopeful the lap would help me get pregnant. I had a lap in october 2016 where endo was removed. My pain stayed exactly the same after the operation. The gynaecologist told me it may be nerve pain. I was not convinced by this so I sought a second opinion. I had a second lap 8 weeks ago, where more endo was found. The pain after second lap has been reduced, but has not gone away. I have rectovaginal endo which is very hard to remove completely.

My pain is severe on day 7,14 and 28 of cycle, before lap I had pain in between these dates as well. Since lap, pain is very mild between the dates mention, but still severe on dates mentioned.

As my pain is in direct correlation to my cycle I know it has nothing to do with recovery from surgery, but because endo is still there.

I am seeing my surgeon in a couple of weeks to talk through my options.

I would suggest you go back to your doctor and get referred for a second opinion.

In regards to managing your pain, you may also want to get referred to a pain management clinic who can prescribe long term pain relief.

I use a tens machine when I get my attacks as well as a combination of high strength ibuprofen, paracetamol and codeine.

Hope you get some relief soon
