Exercising after Laparoscopy

Hello! I am wondering if anyone can help me with some advice on exercising following a laparoscopy?

Background: I had my op 18 days ago and had two spots of endometriosis removed. I am not yet sure how extensive this was or what technique was used, just that they were located on the left wall of my pelvis and the right uterosacral ligament near my bladder. The lowest incision got infected and I've been on a 7 day course of antibiotics which ends today and has cleared up the infection.

I am getting married on the 9th December leaving me not much time to get back to looking and feeling my best.

I was really proud of my body before my op and loved my stomach and my tiny baby abs. Since the operation my stomach has gotten bigger (possibly still swelling?) although I have put on 4lbs. Still before when I put on a bit of weight I still had definition? My stomach seems to have lost all of the shape I worked so hard for over the year and it's a little depressing since I wanted to look my best for my wedding which is now under a month away.

Does anyone have any advice on gentle exercise to bring the muscle tone back? I never had a 6 pack, but I had definition I was proud of and I would really love to be seeing a bit of that again before the wedding and following week I intended to spend in a bikini. Also muscle tone aside does anyone have any advice on getting back into an exercise routine in general as I'm desperate to shed the weight I've put on being sofa-ridden for the best part of the past 2 weeks.

Hi I had my lap done a month ago and I went back to the gym yesterday and it wasn't a good idea I am now in some pain!! Obviously everyone is different but I would recommend walking every day maybe even twice a day it's the best form of exercise and it won't cause any harm or strain!! Congratulations on your wedding! x

I went back to Pilates after two weeks and just did the easy version of any exercises which seemed too hard. Pilates is great for stomach definition so maybe look in to that.

My stomach stayed bloated for over a month i would say. Remember even though it looks like small scars on the outside, your body is having to work hard to heal on the inside.

Oh, and wedding dresses hide a multitude of sins! Just make sure you have your final fitting close to the big day so you can get a good fit for whatever size you are on the day. Don’t be tempted to get the dress taken in too much as the last thing you want is to be uncomfortable all day. Xx
