ovary out: hi there ready for my 3rd... - Endometriosis UK
ovary out
I am facing this too...waiting for laparoscopy to diagnose Endo with ovarian cyst to be removed. Told me may have to remove ovary. I'm full of questions x
Hi, I had a large cyst and they warned me I might lose my ovary.I think if it's a big cyst they will always warn you that there's a risk it might have to come out but hopefully they won't have to and will treat you as conservatively as they can.For me they weren't able to remove the whole cyst so they drained it and cut across it to stop it growing again but this does mean the cyst can refill again in the future x
Hi. I hope you are having a good day. I had a large chocolate cyst removed in May, it was encasing my right ovary and was attached to my womb and bowel. I was fully expecting it to come out but they fully removed the cyst and decided to reconstruct the ovary, currently going through the initial tests of ivf see how my fertility has been affected. Is your surgeon a bsge specialist? As already said they will try their upmost to keep your ovaries. Hope it goes well. Xx
Well. You can manage with 1ovary, estogen will be lower but you may have a hormone drop every other mth and get depression? When the choc cyst is removed you may lose part of the ovary that's Ok, but maybe the cyst will return. There isn't much of a choice. Keep what you can and stay on Zoladex or something else to reduce endo growth and having too much surgery. Working with this disease, excepting it. For me I except the resting, more sleep, use my time and energy carefully around the days I am useless.
Sorry for so many months late reply..I went through some time in hosp and still waiting for lap. So do ypu suggest I try to mention again that I want to try to makesute I keep my ovary and ask if surgeon is a specialist? I dont have children yet and have been trying x
