Mottled skin

Hi, I’m currently waiting on my date for my 5th lap, I use heat pads up full for my bk and boiling hot water bottle daily on my belly, iv had my telling off from gp, gyne and endo specialists for excessive use of heat but sometimes it’s only way I can get comfortable whilst sitting or in bed, my skin is a mess on my tummy and top of thighs, I’m hoping that after this surgery pain will get better as it’s a endo dr this time and I won’t need the heat anymore, can someone tell me if the mottled skin will fade? I’ve attached a picture of how it looks without having the water bottle on it and a pic after using the water bottle x

Hi

I have exactly the same mottled skin, i call it endo belly but it has another more fancy name , id like to tell u it goes but it doesnt coz the more u keep doin it( burning it) the more damage u do.

Mine has faded alittle but never gone!! Try to wrap a teatowel round it so it doesnt burn u so bad

My mother actually has this along her lower back due to using heating pads. She actually switched to infrared heating pads now instead of the ones with coils. Her marks have decreased dramatically since the switch, but she still has some.

Hi lovely, it's so sad to see your skin. I have the exact same thing on my back. It just shows the amount of pain endo causes us. I had the exact same mottled skin on my belly before all three of my laps and that completely faded. It did take a good few month to settle. I'm now waiting for my 4th Lap and the skin on my back is mottled, I'm hoping it will fade again after the Lap as hopefully my pain will be less and need for hot water bottles will be less too.

A few good things to try to help reduce the mottling would be vitamin e oil, rose hip oil, witch hazel and arnica gel or cream. All are known for their natural skin healing properties.

Good luck with your lap, i hope you'll be free of pain xxx

I actually have that but I thought it was just a skin burn 😮 Is it linked to endo after using hot water bottle? 😮 Mines still there after a good 6months its slightly faded 😮

I have the exact same thing but doctors etc don’t seem bothered by it. I’m hoping it will fade with time but due to pain it’s unlikely. Good to know there are things that can help us though.

My stomach and thighs looked the same but after buying an electric heat pad it is starting to fade. I was really making a mess of my skin but the heat pad has been great! It has 6 temperature settings and is so much easier than constantly warming hot water bottles. I got my heat pad from amazon but don’t worry the marking will fade x
