Mirena coil bladder pain

Can anyone help. Six months after having the mirena coil fitted I developed a pressure pain, that felt like cystitis. I had a dip test and it wasn’t a UTI.

They looked for my coil and couldn’t see it. I had it removed by a private gynae because I couldn’t bare the wait on the nhs over xmas.

The pain lifted and I had a period. Then it came back. But milder. I stayed off the coil for nine months and have had scans and finally a laparoscopy last month. They thought it might be endometriosis - but it wasn’t. The lap found nothing.

They put the coil back in during the lap.

I feel worse since they did and the pressure feeling in my bladder is back.

I know this isn’t endo - but I also know that women on here have mentioned bladder pain like cystitis and I wondered if anyone had any thoughts.

Umm, I am wondering if your diagnose is correct.

When I inserted Mirena, I experience the similar pain, discomfort. I think Mirena was having some effect to endo which was fusing bladder with the uterus.

Are you seeing specialist registred at BSGE endometeriosis centre?
