Endo and sleep!

So as I write this, I've been laid in bed reading a book for the past hour and a half whilst my partner snores his peaceful sleeping head off next to me!

Since my recent official diagnosis last week, I've been doing loads of reading and seen quite often about endo and sleep, or the lack of with links to insomnia. Is this a running theme with endo? It would explain a lot for me. I've never found it easy to get to sleep even as a kid, but then once I'm asleep you can't get me up! And getting out of bed in the morning is a real mission even if I've had a good 8-10 hours!

I just wonder if this is a 'thing' and if so how does everyone else deal with it? Any tips for getting to sleep? Sleeping better?

TIA

It's definitely a thing for me hun fatigue and insomnia have been a plague in my life fatigue mostly but insomnia plays a big part. I suffered like you as a kid we're I would sleep through the day even after 12 hours and sleep in class and c when my siblings were out playing I would be sleeping. Then nights I would be tossing n turning in pain or very much aware and alert. It's awful iv had sleeping pills in the past never been offered help for fatigue. Just v wish it would go once and for all. Iv think I could deal with pain it's these symptoms that get me the worst 💗🤗😘

It's just awful isn't it! I've tried all sorts.. going to bed at same time every night and waking at same time. Reading, taking all electrical stuff away, I'm trying not to nap now, even though I've been resting post op to try and get me to sleep at night, doesn't matter!!

I think I've always had endo but I've always been on some form of contraception so it's masked the symptoms which my gynaecologist agrees with, but I have always suffered with this stupid insomnia and fatigue!! I feel so tires now, but just can't get off to sleep! And I know if I slept better, I'd feel better and maybe the other symptoms wouldn't seem so awful!

🤗❤️ thanks for the reply! It's nice to know I'm not alone, but horrible to see so many of suffering in various different ways!

Oh yes most definitely you would have always had it I know iv always, had it. Just know it's never been mentioned to me. I found out about endo last year and knew iv had this 💩 all my life. I only got it confirmed in Feb at the age of 32. Hopefully well be able to work it out. I'm going to start cleansing my body and continue eating good hopefully will help. But I caved in today and took meds for first time in a while 😔 it's just awful it's worse when others don't get it around you. I cut myself off from everyone except my hubby and daughter even then I get tense when he doesn't get it. I bloody hate it really do. Hope you manage to get some sleep soon 💗😘🤗

Yeh I spent most of my years on contraception due to period pains, didn't even get mentioned I might have endo! And who argues with the dr at age 12!

I've cut out dairy and sugars, have done for about 8 months now that seems to make a difference to my health/skin/bloating etc. Had a jacket potato yesterday and felt awful afterwards, it's just hard isn't it. It's bad enough we live in pain most days, but then you can't eat your fave foods either because they make it worse!

I finally managed to get some sleep about 2am! Then up for the school run at 6! Luckily I'm still recovering from post op so my mum is helping so I'm now back off robbed! But next week I'll be back to normal!

I know, what you mean about food its, hard but it does help. Dairy is the worst c for me. I think I need to do an intolerance test too even good food can not agree with all of us just headache my legs are really hurting today particularly my right one. Glad your mums helping you bless her. It was about half 3 when I got some rest. Hope you sleep better tonight hun. 💗🤗😘

Thanks Hun. It's just awful. I'm having a low few days, and starting to wonder if my period is arriving after the op which they warned me it may. Legs aching, off foods, feel sick the list goes on. Feeling rather low and not in a good place today!

Awwwww honey. I know how you feel iv been feeling really low these past few days regarding this 💩. It's ttc part that's stressing me and the pain don't want to take meds because I feel strongly against them. But having to cave in because it's too much and I'm not super woman. Hun your first and second maybe third period will be bad but your first will hurt bad. Just remember you've had a op and in there is still healing (while we're on that point I suggest you get serrapeptase to help stop scar tissue forming) to be done inside. Rest and get help where you can I know how it is my daughter is nearly 4. Chat with me hun it helps to talk to people that just get it. Message me if you want 💗🤗😘

Thanks Hun really appreciate it. I've been feeling like my period has been coming for 2/3 days now. Then it subsides and nothing happens, so could just be healing and different pains etc. They left some endo on my ovaries as were ttc so I know to expect similar pains to before and worse due to having had surgery. So really looking forward to that! Not!

Today is also my last official day off work! Got the weekend off but my partners children are here so it's my last day alone lol!

I think I'm worrying that although I'm the director at work and can just take time off, it isn't that simple, people rely on me being there and getting stuff done, decisions to be made etc. And I can't just go back back for a day or two to then take more time off!

Too much pressure but like you say we're not super women! Although sometimes it feels like we're expected to!

Awww hun. Can't you do some work from home? letting them know what needs doing etc and then go back when you feel a bit better. You need to rest or you'll end up making yourself worse. They say it's minimal invasive op but inside what they do isn't. Stop stressing ( easier said than done I know) start resting 💗🤗😘

Yeh I've been working from home this week, next week we have a big launch and open day that I have to be there for! Not great timing, but when is it ever!

Will be taking it easy and possibly will work from home a little bit after that but we have clients in and only myself and one other person is a key holder! So makes that difficult!

Oh OK. I understand. Just rest up as much as you can till then. Then like you said if you feel you need to just work from home after c that.. Iv had to book a gp appointment for pain meds iv don't have a clue what their going to do as lastv time I was on paracetamol ibuprofen and tramadol which helped but made me crazy. Doc referred me to pain clinic then and said come in as and when you need meds this is first time since may I'm going I tried my best but I need something my back and legs are killing. 💗🤗😘

Sometimes we just have to go and get help Hun. I take cocodamol which by any means doesn't stop the pain but it's about all I can manage to still function being a parent and working etc, don't think I could take anything stronger.

Hope they help you Hun, like you say sometime we just need to get help! Xx

I'm like you are find it hard functioning been a parent. But to be honest my mum can pull her finger out now she didn't look after us as kids and she offers every now and then with my daughter. I'm going to docs asking for the strongest what they can give and I'm going to my mums till this 💩 is over with I'm only spotting and its killing I haven't c slept v for 3 nights I'm like a walking zombie if I don't get rest imv gonna flip. All I want is another child and they can rip my insides out after that if they want 😣 sorry for rant hun iv had enough I'm normally strong but I can't do it any more 💗😔😘

Don't apologise Hun. At all. I empathise completely, it sucks and it's truly 💩 we all need a rant sometimes.

I agree with you completely I've already said once I've had a baby it's all coming out! And that's a big decision to make, which helped my close people know how much pain I'm in!

Do what you need to do, and just keep in your end that the period will end soon, just rest, hot water bottle and ask for help when need and rant away x

Thanks hun. It's like we cope so well then boom it comes down on you like a ton of bricks it's taking me ages to get dressed. Bloody hell I'm still not dressed. I'm going straight to mums after docs I can't even eat my appetite has gone. Bloody hell I was supposed to be comforting you and it's ended up were iv poured all my 💩 out. Sorry hun. Message me anytime I'm usually a good listener 💗🤗😘

No worries Hun at all. We're all in the same boat.

I'm not dressed today and don't plan on getting dressed either and I don't care who knows it! We all need a slow day in our pjs! That's what Netflix was made for wasn't it?
