Hii girlies

I don’t even no if these are linked but Iv been having a bad pain across my ribs the past few months, I haven’t had endo pain since I had my second surgery in July, so I thought this was a completely different pain unrelated. But as I was told I have something which causes inflamed cartilage but looking into this more I seen the word “fibromyalgia” which I had heard a few times while reading up on endo.

The pain has been getting 10 times worse to the point I am in a massive amount of pain an can’t really get out of bed, or do any activity’s.

I was wondering if any of use have had these diseases linked an if anyone knows how to relieve the pain.

Thanks girls xxxx

Hi I also have fibromyalgia and it’s so painful, sore, effects the whole of your body and certain bits at a time, joints and massive amounts of fatigue.

I take nortryptaline for it which helps to a certain degree.

If you are in pain maybe see your gp so you can have some medication to help.

I also have endo and adeno.

Please feel free to ask me anything about fibro xx

Morning my lovely. I hope you are ok today. I have both endo and fibro and I was diagnosed with fibro about 5 months after my hysterectomy. Sometimes I never know which one is causing pain, fatigue etc. You have mentioned that you have a pain in your ribs and I have had exactly the same pain 😕😕. It's a constant pain and nothing i have been given to ease the pain has helped me. I have had it before but it only lasted a few days, but this time it's lasted for weeks. I have been to the drs twice and urgent care twice only to be told it's endo growing on my gullet and the top of my stomach. I have been given buscopan and tramadol which both haven't helped at all. It's been so bad that I have seriously considered going to a.n.e but I feel like I'm wasting their time, so I just put up with the pain. My gp did tell me that it's very common for women who have endometriosis to also have fibro myalgia. I'm going back to see him this week and he said if the pain hasn't eased off then he will give me oramorph. He's also arranged for me to have a endoscopy ( 4th one in 2 year's ) to find out exactly what is going on. If the pain is that severe then I would go to a.n.e. I hope you get some relief from the pain. 💛💛 p.s I find peppermint tea can help a bit and certain foods can make the pain worse, spicy, greasy, fizzy drinks. I haven't had any of them for a long long time. Xx

This may be wrong, but the pain you describe, plus the mention of 'inflammation of the cartilage' suggests to me that this could be costochondritis. This condition varies a lot in the degree and extent of the pain, but can occur anywhere that there is cartilage, so the central part of the ribs is likely. However, costo can also cause various effects and the pain is often felt in parts of the front and back ribcage area, where there is no cartilage.

When I first had costo I thought I was having a heart attack - apparently this is quite common - and my GP was wonderful. He did every heart, chest and blood test possible … with the ever-present possibility that I would be whisked to A&E.

It all turned out okay. I had to take it easy for several weeks, take medication to keep me calm and to alleviate the pain, but all was fine - and has been ever since.

However, there are different types of costo, some much more nasty than others, so I think you need to go back to your GP and insist on a through, full check-up.

Hope this helps.

Yes I have Endo (on the milder end with heavy bleeding being my main problem) and Fibromyalgia too. The pain across your chest is called Costochondritis - I know this because I have it as part of my Fibro. It sounds like you are in a flare right now. You need to take anti inflammatory painkillers and rest as much as possible to recover. I had it bad in September and it did calm down, but I still get chest pain now when my Fibro flares up. A hot water bottle on chest helped with pain x
