Hello everyone I was looking for some advice. Since February I started to suffer joint/pelvic pain which seems only to be getting worse. I am on my feet all day and can barely stand by the end of my shift as a nurse. I've had issues with my periods for many years and take mefanemic acid for it since as long as I can remember. However this pain no painkillers seem to be helping. I was diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease 4 times but pain remained after antibiotics stopped. The only thing that seems to help is heat. I had a larparoscopy 5 years ago which didn't show endometriosis at this point. I was referred to gynea again after my GP mentioned endo. I am due to see gynea next week. Until then I am finding it so hard to stay at work as I can barely walk or stand. My job is so demanding and I feel deflated. In people's experiences what should I expect next week? I just seem to be in constant pain. And advice would help. Thank you for taking the time to listen.

I know how it feels, years ago i couldn't even go to work due to pain/foggy brain/weakness. Hopefully you'll be referred to a good specialist. As a 'quick' boost of energy i can recommend cutting out wheat, gluten and diary, and boost yourself with a healthy protein shake in the morning with some green superfoods..i've felt much more energy after that. Or doing a food allergy test..lots of inflammatory diseases originate in the gut..so eating probiotic food (sauerkraut, kimchi) may help too.

Taking a warm bath with Epsom magnesium salts may help to ease the tensed muscles and stress levels too, lots of us are deprived of magnesium these days due to modern agriculture. Or if you don't like baths, there're sprays.

Hope your appointment goes well, next week not long to wait x

Thanks for your reply. I am exactly the same. I feel like I've got dementia! Yes thank you I will try this and see if it helps, thankfully my appointment is next week. Oh I love baths it's one of the only things that relieve my pain for a short period anyway at least. Thank you

Hello, I have a similar story, severe pelvic pain and joint pain, lap 4 years ago, no endo but my doctor suspects adeno. The heat and epsom salt bath definitely helps, antiinflamatories also, but try not to take to much. I investigated PID and even though the endometrial biopsy shows inflammation, no bacteria was found... took antibiotics but pain is still present.

May I please ask you if you have pain all the time? all month long or certain days of your cycle? Do you get any pain free days?

Yes I feel like I'm in constant pain. Some days are definitely worse than others and depends if I've been on my feet all day or not (by the end of the shift I'm done in and I'm walking around the ward like John Wayne) I've yet to make a Diary to see if there is a pattern but I'm just praying for help on Tuesday with the gynaecologist and hope she/he is empathetic. The Epsom Salts did have a short term relief! And the hot water from the bath helped too

Hi. I have exactly the same problem and I am a nurse too. My back and pelvis is stiff and sore first thing I morning but eases a little. By the end of the day I don't know where to put myself. Very position is painful. I have just had my right ovary removed but this has not helped with the pain. I have endometriosis and adnomyosis. My gynaecologist thinks the pain is from the adnomyosis. I think it will be a hysterectomy soon, as I have 3 children and this is the only definitive treatment for adnomyosis. I hope you get sorted soon x

I feel the same, the pain certainly Does get worse after a shift and being on my feet all day. I really don't want to be at work but at the same time I'm thinking that I Probably will need an op, so would need to take time off for that. I'm 35 and I've yet to have children. I did want them but the future doesn't seem so bright now. But maybe I'm just thinking the worst as yet to have a definitive diagnosis thank you so much I hope you are getting there too

If it is adnomyosis then I think they can control it with medication. I hope you get sorted soon
