Hey had mirena coil 8 days they wanted to try it for my suspected endo, now I have bled daily since and have suffered cramps and feeling sick daily too. I can't help but worry that if it is endo, being on the coil wont help if I'm bleeding doesn't that defeat the object? Also I don't think it's going to help with the horrific pain when exercising either. what do you all think I'm worried o have made the wrong choice and should if went for laroscooy as I'm in agony and it's playing havoc with my emotiond. Thanks so much for your support x

Advice on coil please!!
Hey, I have endo and they put me on it after my operation. I had the same pains and bleed loads. Found out it just made my endo worse and could feel it when sitting down so I had it taken out, best thing for me! I was told to give it time to settle down.
I hope this helps, if it's really bad I would go to the doctors and explain the pain and see what they say. Also if you really feel the pain is bad and want the operation push to have it down! X
Hi, I know from my own experience it can be tough at first. If you are able to tolerate the initial effects, over time it should stop your periods altogether and reduce pain. The problem seems to be that our bodies initially protest at having something foreign inside. Seems to be worse if you haven't had children. But it does get better for most women and it is a proven treatment for endo. So if it is possible to give it more time, you are likely to feel benefits. I had a lot of pain at first, but became pain free by six months (it gradually faded).
At day 8, I would have thought the hormone effects will have hardly kicked in. If they had, I don't think you would still be bleeding. Perhaps it's the pain that's making you feel so emotional?
Take care.
If you can give it at least 3 months. Any hormone treatment takes at least that long to settle down. I bled heavily for 6 weeks straight and felt awful , then it switched off like a tap overnight and my periods stopped altogether, bliss. I did have very mild pelvic pain that lingered and got on my nerves over time.
After 5 months I decided to remove it to be sure it wasn't after effects of the laparoscopic surgery and after removal the pain did go so it hadn't settled with me, probably because I had had excision treatment near the location it was sitting.
It doesn't work for all but worth giving your body more time if you can.
