It confirms the cyst on my right ovary. The size is 28 x 27 x 24mm, which I think isn't too bad, is it? The gyno said she doesn't remove if it's under 5mm, so maybe that's what this will come under.
However, it further states that my ovary is located in the pouch of douglas. I'm just a little confused about that, it's not really meant to be there, is it? And what are the implications of it being there?
It also says my right ovary is also enlarged and measures 53 x 34 x 56mm and vol=52.3mls.
This compares to my left (normal one) which is 38 x 19 x 22mm and vol=8.2mls.
Any help with any similar experience would be welcome. This whole thing makes me very squeamish. I think I should have been born in the 1800's or something!
Thanks in advance for any help/advice. x

I would ring the Endo UK helpline as they will be able to explain your results to you.
I do know your ovary should not be in the pouch of Douglas (the space in between your vagina and rectum) so sounds like you have adhesions sticking it down.
i just wondered if anyone else had had this, I can't find too much on it, even on google. It's quite low down for it to be, I'm guessing it's part of the reason why I have the pain down there.
Thanks for that. Anything helps. You can just feel so overwhelmed with it all! I hadn't thought to give them a call about this, but they may have some experience.
It would explain your bowel troubles, my POD was obliterated with endo and adhesions, I had bowel problems too. Some people have lots of pain, especially during periods due to this.
I'm sure they will help answer your questions and advise of options.
Good luck, let me know how you get on big hugs xxx
No, she just referred me to the gynaecologist and said it's endometriosis. She didn't know much about it, and just said that I'll need the gynaecologist for it.
She only said it was an endo cyst, it was only now that I've had to request the report for the gyno that I've read it and saw that my ovary is in the POD, but I just picked that up from reception.
