bleeding 4 weeks and counting ...?

hi guys, i know i havent been on here in a while but i have been between jobs. I've now had the mirena in nearly 8 weeks this coming weekend and don't know what to say. Have very mixed feelings about it and have been bleeding pretty much every day for the last 4 weeks now! Heard this can be the case for 3-6 months?! Thing is, when i bleed, i bleed terribly and don't feel it (the mirena) has overly improved my condition since before i went into hospital to get the hysteroscopy. i bleed more around bowel movements, seem to still pass clots and waking up is always a nightmare incase i've flooded a towel. Can someone convince me to keep the mirena in please? only i tried the implant (no good - bled terribly) combination pill (got migraines n bad side effects) running out of options if mirena is removed =/ ??? don't wanna go back to anaemia/ iron tablets again !!! ='(

its not even about the cramping pain i experience, it's more the bleeding as i worry i'll flood onto my clothes in work n be having to change my towel every half hour!!

any suggestions please? i'm at a loose end, in a new job where i can't just book into the docs and the gynae isn't helping when i phone the hospital =(

Sorry to hear you're struggling. I had the daily cramping on mirena but bleeding and periods stopped in week 6. I persisted for 5 months but the pelvic pain ground me down and I had it removed to try zoladex a GnRh chemical menopause.

That didn't work for me ( I have RV Endo type) but does help some ladies a lot.

I believe there are some meds for heavy bleeding but I've not had to try them myself.

Perhaps you could find a walk-in clinic with after work slots?
