Heavy Bleeding whilst on Decapeptyl Jab.

Hi Ladies, I am looking for some advice please. I have just very recently had my 4th jab, up until now I have been more or less back pain free (normally crippling) and not one spot of blood (after bleeding every day for 6.5yrs) Apologies in advance - The blood is dark / old and some stringy pieces too, along with shooting pelvic pains.

I am due to have Bowel Recection and Total Abdominal Hysterectomy within 3-6wks. Aged 31. Will this set back my pre operation assessments, colorectal examination etc

Much love and light to all ❤️

Am in pretty much the same situation with the exception that I have had irregular bleeding since starting decapeptyl. It varies from fresh (red) blood heavy with clots to old (brown/black).

I have a total hysterectomy/bso in 4 weeks so am putting up with this at the moment. I did contact my surgeon re bleeding (at that point didn't know my date) to let them know about the bleeding and was told I could stop the injection if the side-effects were too cumbersome. With the surgery date so close have let them know that I'm willing to put up with this for a few more weeks.

If you have doubts contact your surgeons secretary - hopefully they will be as helpful as I have found mine to be.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, Msdiagnosed. This sounds familiar indeed, apart from the part about contacting my surgeons secretary, it's like talking to a brick wall :-(...

Did your surgeon say what could be causing it, and if it's an issue pending op?

I am struggling massively to pin the Gyne & Colorectal Surgeon down to a date, end of Sep was mentioned, but I've heard nowt since. I am going insane awaiting. How are you feeling?

Waiting is the hardest to be honest. I am also taking tibilone which does state that irregular bleeding can take 3-6 months to settle. It's not an issue pre op according to my surgeon.

Could your GP not make enquiries on your behalf?

Feeling sore/ achy every day, severity differs but will be glad once op done.
