How long from pre assessment to laparoscopy operation did you wait?

I've never had a pre op without knowing my op date. I know other people on here have had pre ops without knowing their op dates but I find it really odd when the hospitals work like this. Surely they need to know that your op is imminent in order to give you a pre op? But how do they know it's imminent if you haven't been given a date? I always find this really odd. It can't be too long after your pre op or surely you'd need another pre op? Xxx

I had my pre-op on 19 July - I'm still waiting on a date for my diagnostic lap. I've been told it's likely to be late September / early October time.

I was told pre op lasts for 6 weeks. I waited 4 week's.

I had my pre op on the 15th August, my lap is scheduled for 29th August, so 2 weeks. I got my pre op appointment at the same time my surgery was confirmed. I think it must just differ with hospitals x

Someone posted on my post, that the pre op lasts for 6 months!!

I'm in the same boat though. I have my pre op oct 24th but no op date yet xx

Every area will vary. I waited about ten weeks from referral to surgery. I was lucky there was a cancellation which still gave me a months notice! I'm in the Dorset/Wilshire area. I didn't need a pre op so can't answer that bit.

24th oct that is miles away! I only got referred Tuesday last week and my pre op is tomorrow
