Hi there I have severe stage 4 endo and the only way it can be diagnosed is through a laparoscopy.
We needed ivf to have our son but on a positive note my clinic said that women with endometriosis are much more likely to fall pregnant this way. It worked for us first time!
Hi I had an ultrasound during which I was told I had a tilted uterus. She said some women just have them but it is true they can be caused by endometriosis. In my case, it was clearly caused by adhesions. The most reliable method of diagnosing endometriosis is via laparoscopy
Omg really I was diagnosed with a tilted womb on my smear last year but I had a pelvic exam only Tuesday and nothing was said. But I'm being checked for endo now too
Yeah I had a laparoscopy a few months later which found mild to moderate endo, adhesions affecting one of my tubes, uterus and all down my bowel. I don't know a lot about that but I would imagine it depends where the adhesions are. For example, if they were blocking or obstructing Fallopian tubes, it could cause problems.
Yes and I also got copies of old medical records. I had had ultrasounds a few years before and it was noted my uterus was axial. Then during the one last year she said it was retroverted so it had changed.
I guess I just have to see if they give me a laparoscopy
I am 30 years old. I had secondary infertility and was diagnosed with endo after 15 months trying to conceive our second child. I had zero symptoms for endo. I underwent exploratory laparoscopic surgery to try and find the cause for my infertility, and that is how they found the endometriosis.
Request a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) to check you tubes. That is the first step. Good luck.
