Hi All!

I am 22 and since last September when I was flying back from Dominican Republic I suffered from severe pelvic pain, my stomach had blosted and I literally couldn't move I was in so much pain, it didn't help I was on a 8 hour flight! Anyway, I went straight to my doctor who told me it was constipation despite me saying I didn't think this was the case. The following day I went to my walk in center as I was still in a lot of pain, they gave me pain killers and I was then referred for blood tests, pregnancy test and an ultrasound at the hospital over a few months. My periods had stopped which was also a problem, this pain has been ongoing and is really getting me down. The hospital came to the conclusion that I must have had cysts on my ovaries which had burst and left the fluid which could be seen on the scan, however there was nothing they could do. I have since been referred to a specialist consultant who advised me to come off the pill, this brought my periods back but still suffering with pelvic pain and bloating. I have since been to A&E as I was in tears in pain and was prescribed a strong codeine but this made me extremely nauseous, dizzy and sick so I stopped taking them. Anyway I now have an appointment with my consultant again for blood tests and I have a Laparoscopy booked for the 6th of October as my consultant says there is a possibility of endometriosis. Sorry for the rant! I just want to hear from others with sinister situations, I am also very anxious about the op! X

Hi

I've had a very similar case to yourself and mine started over 5 years ago. It started with awful pelvic pain and every time I went to the doctor they prescribed painkillers but nothing worked and I felt no better. After 2 years they referred me to a gynaecologist and I had a laparoscopy and they found I had endometriosis. I had a mirena coil fitted and things seemed to calm down but recently I've had severe pains again and they rushed me in for another laparoscopy and they found endometriosis and a cyst. You know your body and when something is wrong so keep pushing and pushing for a resolution don't let it go on for ages and ages. Don't be worried about the procedure, of course it's frightening but it will hopefully give you some answers xx

Hi there, I'm having very similar issues with terrible pelvic pain! But still looking for answers. Doctor wanted to give me pain killers and put me on birth control (which I just started) I'm still in pain though and it's been 5 days now and missed all week of work. This is not something that should be taken lightly. The pain is no joke!

I'm glad they are going to be doing something for you! Best of luck with the surgery! You'll do just fine :)
