Rib pain

Does anyone else get a really, REALLY sore aching feeling in the back of their ribs, so much so that breathing is painful? It only comes on right before my period starts, but it's a new development and it really stinks!?!

Yes I have pain in my rib cage at front and back. Every day but far worse when on my menses. The MRI result was: probably multiple sources of deep infiltrating endometriosis. Now waiting for referral to endo specialist. I am 42.

Thanks for sharing that. This whole thing is so frustrating. I'm sorry that you've got to deal with this also. It's so miserable sometimes.

hi, just a thought - but have you thought of there's a possibility it could be linked to diaphragm endometriosis? I have rib/chest pain and sore when I take deep breaths in. The biggest thing is very sharp shoulder pain which stabs right through from my chest front thru to my shoulder blade as it's excruciating. Only happens around period and especially ovulation. A day or two post ovulation pain just vanishes. I've had very bad pelvic endometriosis (both ureters/cervix/bowel/ovaries/uterosacral ligaments all stuck down and in a right old mess) and although I think endo on the diaphragm is more rare, it is seen more with people who have had extensive pelvic disease. Why I thought to suggest it is that 90% of diaphragm endo affects the right side only, so when u mentioned it only comes on your right, and around period time too, it may be worth checking with a consultant? I've started just getting these symptoms and am returning to the UK from Sydney to see my surgeon as I think I may have this so I just thought I'd mention it. Hope you feel better soon, I know how debilitating this awful illness can be. 😘

I'm sooo glad I'm not the only one! I have exactly the same pain! It's so severe. I am having a ct scan on Wednesday to see the result of endo on the diaphragm but my surgeon has already said he can tell I do have it there. I am due surgery next month with 3 surgeons as I also have it around my bowel. Just wanted to say thank you for your comment I don't feel alone
