Needing advice...

Just thought I would give a round up of what I'm going through at the moment. I'm 25, newly single... diagnosed Feb 2015 with Stage 1 endometriosis. They found a few patches on my ovary. I do get pain daily, now including my lower back... also getting a lot of bowel problems (never seems to be normal/painless). I am considering asking for another laparoscopy. I just have one question - does anyone recommend this? I don't know whether it's best to stick it out for as long as possible or just get it over and done with so I can try and improve my health again... any suggestions? Thank you!

Hey, we've met before but just thought I'd say hi again! My endometriosis was on the back of my womb and had fused against my bowel which caused me no end of pain in that area! I had 2 laparoscopies a year apart and each time had a (new) mirena coil fitted whilst they removed the scar tissue using a CO2 laser (I think). Each surgery was done by BUPA. By the time the 3rd year came around I was back to the pain. I went to see a different consultant (NHS fertility specialist in Reading) and he was confused as to why they suggested this CO2 laser as apparently it only causes more scarring. He has kept me on the mirena coil but in addition I am on the microgynon contraceptive pill and have had no pain for over a year! I have to take the pill packets back to back but at 6 months I take the break. Get a little bit of pain within this week but no way near as bad as it used to be! Hope this helps x

Hi Sarah! Yes, it was lovely meeting you that time :) I'm setting the Reading group up again so will be in touch shortly! I'm really considering asking for another laparoscopy... I don't see the harm in it. I had mine under the NHS last time. I have bowel problems so don't know if I have IBS or if it is something related to endo.

I just worry that it could have come back and it's not worth finding out too late!

How's things with you?

X
