Periods and pain is always bad, as I’m sure all of you know! But how do I go to work when I can barely move. My manager is one of those managers where she doesn’t care what is going on and what you’re feeling, you have to be in work. As long as she gets time off whenever she wants too, that’s all she cares about.
Without officially being diagnosed as of right now, is there a way I can get my boss to understand and to allow me to have some time off until this pain subsides a little?
Just wanting to know what you guys would do!
Thank you in advance!

Hey; I’m struggling with the same situation right now. It makes me worried askin for time of this is a condition tht unless u have it no one seems to understand the pain u feel 😞
I’m going to give my doctors a call in the morning and get them to provide me with a sick note. Our health does come first, you’re right with that!
Hopefully you can do the same thing! Xx
Hi, I know this feeling all too well.
Its the guilt...you can knock that on the head for a start young lady. Not all women are the same when it comes to periods and I am sure she might surprise you and will be understanding in the end.
Luckily my boss (male) is really supportive when I told him of my diagnosis. He's probably really scared of "women" issues.
As you're not there yet on divulging your issue and until you get your diagnosis, legally you can take time off if you are ill (no matter what the illness is) you only need to give proof if you are ill more than 7 days.
I am sure your conscientious about your workload and would make up the time, so as long as you are covering your back I see no reason why you can't take a day or two off
I had called my manager this morning, and explained to her that I’ll need the rest of this week off. She wasn’t happy with it at all and wanted me to provide her with a sick note.. So after explaining to her that the doctor had said I can self certificate, and would only need a sick note if I’m off for longer than a week, she didn’t have a leg to stand on to be honest.
