Hello! I'm Lucie and I'm 20 tomorrow! I had my laparoscopy yesterday and was diagnosed with endometriosis after suffering for around 6 and a half years. I'm very sore today and hoping to feel better for my birthday tomorrow. I'm really glad I've found a place where I can connect with others who are feeling the same, as I am finding it hard for my friends who don't have endometriosis to understand although they are very supportive. At the moment I am feeling very overwhelmed and slightly down. My surgeon has said my endo is all over my pelvis but didn't say much else as I was just waking up from surgery. I would love to connect with others who are my own age and other ages too in order to support each other. I hope everyone is well x
Hi I'm new here☺: Hello! I'm Lucie and I'm... - Endometriosis UK
Hi I'm new here☺
Happy birthday for tomorrow! I feel the same none of my friends understand it and it's so horrible being in pain like this and all the mental problems that come with it! X
Happy 20th Birthday for tomorrow Hun, Get some peppermint tea or peppermint water it will help with the gas that they blow you up with and can cause shoulder pain. You may feel bit better Tom as after my first lap I recovered quicker, though this time I'm 8days post op and still very weepy and just not feeling myself, two of my incisions are now infected so now on antibiotics too, if your stitches haven't dissolved after 5-7 days ask surgery to remove them I didn't think anything of it till yesterday when other incision became infected when I spoke to girl on here she mentioned her stitch was pulling doing the same and my stitches ain't budging so gonna call if no joy with it coming out over weekend, have they given you a plan? I was told back to back pill 6months to see if it helps any. Hope you make speedy recovery and get good support it's difficult and many friends that don't have endo don't understand what we go through on daily bases xxxx
Thank you so much for your reply! I'm so sorry to hear that your struggling post op this time around! I'll keep an eye on my stitches. They haven't given me a plan yet, I have a meeting with the surgeon in 6 weeks to talk about management and what options there are for me as I'm still quite young. Yes I'm very weepy too! I'm so emotional, it's not very nice at all. I have good support off my mum as she went through the same and she ended up having to have a hysterectomy just before she was 40 so it's nice to have someone who understands but I find friends are the hardest to understand what it's like. I hope you feel better as soon as possible!xxxx
Thanks hope you having a great pain free birthday. Thanks for replying. Glad you have support from your mum Hun, my mum doesn't fully get it don't get me wrong she helped loads and stayed to help with my 11 year old for 6 nights though she informed me today she has my brother 3 kids this weekend as he away to Glasgow, so feeling a little gutted sore can't drive and feeling isolated lol xxxxx
