Hi all,

I tried 6 or 7 but none of them worked for me due to severe side effects so I ended up having to find non pill alternatives. (Talking therapies, diet, SAD lamp, dog rescue, husband, lifestyle and career changes), Hopefully you will have better luck.
Hi, I've been on citalopram but agree with Starry try other treatments and use anti depressants as a last resort if you can x
Sometimes it depends on what the root cause and other contributing factors are to the depression. It is also possible to take them to treat social anxiety and generalised anxiety too. Sertraline is a popular one but only you and GP (or see a counsellor if needed and they could help advise) can decide what is right to try for you xx
Hi. I used to take citalopram for years. Didn't have any problems. It does take a couple of weeks to get used to them, tiredness etc but they were great. If you start on a low dose and then work up if you need to. X
I've tried lots and have ended up on lofepramine which suits me best.
I've recently started taking duloxetine as also good on pain. Certainly seems to be helping.
Whilst I agree with others to try all kinds of therapies I found I had to have the tablets to get to a good enough place to even try the other things. Which did then help a bit too.
Good luck it's a horrible place to be but it does get better.
