I had three large ones and they were visible on my MRI. (10+ cms, 6cm and 9 cm)

Both of mine (6cm ish and 8cm ish) showed up on ultrasound. I'm sure they would show up on MRI xx

I read other replies and it does show up

Nothin ever showed up on mine

I'm not too sure to be honest. When are you due to have your scan? Have you had an ultrasound scan? Xx

If you've had an ultrasound a chocolate cyst should have shown up on that. They can see my 2-3cm ones with a trans-vaginal ultrasound. My 10cm cyst showed up with MRI when I was referred with what was thought to be a back problem (due to pains down my leg and in my foot).

they can see I've had a cyst but then its burst and caused a hole in my ovary .. so i was wondering if it was a chocolate cyst from the pain it caused and the way it came and went so quickly ?

As I understand it chocolate cysts tend to be around a much longer time and build up gradually. I'm pretty sure that's what mine was like. The surgeon described it as full of old blood. Sounded very unpleasant.

Well that doesn't surprise me. Although if you're seeing gynae doctors they should be better. I know there are a variety of types of cyst. They were hoping my latest one was haemorrhagic and would go down on its own but it doesn't seem to have. Just stayed on the small side.

@Bettyxox

As far as I know not much shows up on MRI.

Soft tissue endo stuff doesn't

And MRI or so expensive they might as well have done the lap surgery
