I also seem to have a big flare up when I'm due to go to bed, but mine varies quite a lot anyway, I'm normally good for nothing until 1pm and then I may be able to do something.
Mine always is at its worst early hours in the morning ?
Yes, I'm the same. The pain peaks in the morning and the evening, I usually have a window of pain free between 1 and 3 pm before it starts again. My assumption has always been that it's because the bowel is less full/dormant early afternoon, but the clinicians have always just scratched their heads when I've mentioned it!
Hi, mine is worse at night, particularly due to cyst pain. They hurt more when I lie down and all the specialists I've seen accept that. It may be worth tying to sleep propped up a little bit. I read once that endo links to the liver and the processing of any toxins in our bodies so maybe by the end of the day your body is trying to process the day's toxins?! Or maybe I've just made it up haha. Whatever the reason I also found a hot water bottle was a life saver x
Exactly the same!! Whenever I'm having an 'episode' it's like clockwork! AWAYS starts between 3am-5am and will last all morning and it will start to ease off about 3pm then I'm exhausted. By the afternoon I look grey, my body is exhausted and I'll bang down as many pain killers as I can and try and sleep with a hot water bottle. Then it'll start again 😞 God know why this time though? There much be a reason for it? xx
Yep same here. My tears are always shed when getting into bed as my hip pain is excruciating. I save myself a dose of tramadol for bed then between 1-5 i get very little sleep once its worn off.
Thank you to all who have posted about thier night episodes, maybe we will feel less lonely and desprate knowing this is common with endo. Much love and healing hugs x x
Hi just read your post how are you now? Ive had pains groin/hip/back that has got worse over 6 months...curently being treated for suspect diverculitis...near end of course pain really severe still...think it might be endo but the docs seem to ignore my concerns...just give me codiene! Pains worse wen lying down..i can only describe it as a red hot poker pressing into my left side in my groin...can radiate to back and hip...the pain is there constantly...hope yours is easing
I've always found in worse from around 8pm-11am and usually assumed it was due to bowels being more full/emptied less during the night? I usually wake up around 2/3am in excruciating pain and have to try and use the toilet and use searing hot water bottles to calm it enough to try and sleep again, often taking me 1-1.5hrs
I have however recently had it removed from my bowels and still get pain mostly at night&early AM but down my sides (feels like ovary/uterus) so perhaps not linked to bowels only?
