I've been on them 2 months

And they have helped with my day to day pain

I'm not saying it's been a walk in the park

Hot flashes

Night sweats

Insomnia

Mood swings

But they have helped me and if they continue to help then that's fine by me

It's scary I know And I was very nervous about trying them

I'm glad I did

Good luck hope they help

Hi Heather. Yes that's basically what this type of drug does.

I'm on month three of this injection, initially it eased the pain but it seems back with avengance this mont so not sure what my next move is! It stops you ovulating hence stops the endometriosis spreading any further temporarily!

Prostap is a gnrh agonist there is info on the link above. Don't panic your periods will come back as normal once you stop treatment. The course shouldn't be longer than 6 months so it's only short term. I was never prescribed calcium tabs but look into this. You should have some form of hrt alongside it - either an hrt drug or continuing on with the pill.

Both times I took it I had hot flushes, insomnia, hair thinning (not bald don't worry!) and felt a bit flat. But had more energy as pain reduced. It's a bit worse pain wise the first month or so as the hormonal system is kicked into overdrive before it shuts down. After this you should start to feel the benefit of it x

Kelly Walters, I feel your pain! I have just taken 3 months course of monthly prostap. First two injections were not to bad, eased the pain, severe insomnia, night sweats and also felt isolated. Just wanna stay at home, didn't want to go out shopping or socialising. 3rd injection was lethal, two weeks after was rushed into hospital tramadol, morfine the lot for 2days. Seems like it has made no difference. I have been off work for 3weeks. Drs only prescribing pain relief and nothing more 😭. Have now resorted to seeking help via homeopathy. Anyone else tried this?

Not what you're looking for?
