Waiting for my gyne appoitment!!!

Hey everyone,

Feel like i have been waiting for ages for this appointment to happen been so much going back and forth to my gp who has now finally referred me and i have my appointment on the 23rd of this month.

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries in october with my scan showing large cysts on my left ovarie my right side had a few but was told these looked normal size and were nothing to worry about but he wanted me to be referred to see a gyne doc. I am only 23 and i am concerned i dont want this to affect my fertlity when i am ready to have kids, i have been with my partner for 7years and we never use protection we are not trying for a baby but no accidents have ever happend we are either being very careful or this is already affecting me. :(

The whole thing is just draining me i feel like in a whole month i have a couple of days were my body feels normal. I have my list ready with all my symptoms and my questions that i want to ask my gyne doc.

Any advice for me has anyone had anything similar.

Hi lovely :)

I don't know if I will be of any help as I am also undiagnosed but I am in a similar situation to you.

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries (but not PCOS) and she basically said that although there were lots of cysts, she couldn't see a reason for my other symptoms - particularly all the pain. That's why I was referred to a gyno and I have my appointment tomorrow.

If it helps at all with the baby thing, yes it does apparently affect fertility quite often but I do know three different people who have had healthy babies with endo. I think sometimes you will need a lap to remove the endo before successfully conceiving but, honestly, I would have it removed anyway if I had it so it's not necessarily anything special you have to do.

Of course I can't speak on behalf of everyone and unfortunately some people with endo do really struggle with conceiving or even some have to have reproductive organs removed/operated on to the point they may not conceive BUT please don't worry about it until you've had all your tests done. As soon as you have an answer I'm sure it will all seem less scary and there will be a solution that works for you.

I'll be thinking of you on the 23rd!

S xx
