Hi

I am having a Pelvic Vein Embolisation to treat pelvic congestion syndrome soon. I wondered if anyone could advise me with how long they were off work for post procedure? as well as any tips to aid recovery?

Hi,

I had my left ovarian vein embolised 5 months ago. I was a day case patient and several hours after the procedure I went home. Plenty of rest stops the pain, it was only when I was moving about that I felt discomfort.

I went to a museum two days after my embo but after a few hours of walking about the cramps really kicked in!

A week is all I needed to feel good again.

As for pain relief, I only took the odd paracetamol when I'd overdone it.

Everybody is different though. Rest up and let your body heal. Good luck x
