I've taken the decision to have Zoladex injections for 6 months since surgery and the combined pill have had no effect on the spread of my Stage 4 endo. My specialist tells me in some cases it can shrink the endo which is already there. Just wondered if anyone has experienced this, or is it just wishful thinking...?!
Thanks

I was under the impression that it only shrinks superficial endo, I didn't think it would help stage 4. Is your specialist on the BSGE list,
It might help your symptoms whilst on. It, but it's only temporary measure, as you can only take it for 6 months, then you will be in the same position,
I'm ok with only taking it for 6 months as after that we would like to try to get pregnant ideally. If it at least keeps the endo at bay that in itself would be a bonus!
My endo is in the pouch of douglas, so between the womb and the bowel basically. Pretty much all of the endo was removed during my laporotomy in August but some cells were left on the bowel as the surgeon was not a colo-rectal surgeon and didn't want to touch the bowel.
But it has grown back extensively within only a few months.
P.S. Yes I checked and my specialist is on the BSGE list
I have taken zoladex on 3 separate occasions now- it helps to manage your symptoms. I had very complicated and complex grade 4 being on it didn't shrink it- it just helped symptoms. X
