Hi there

I think people's symptoms probably differ a lot but mine was increasingly problematic constipation that was linked to my cycle - worsening the week before my period and period pain that felt like I'd been stabbed in the bum ( sorry only way I can describe it!). Then I suddenly developed the most horrific pain in my bum a couple of days after my period had finished and I was so desperate I paid to see a private gynaecologist who did a internal ultrasound and said my endo was strangulating my bowel ( I had already been diagnosed with stage 4 endo 10 years previously). I have since had radical excision of the endo following 7 months of Zolodex to dry it up pre surgery. I am unfortunately left with chronic bowel problems as my bowel was so damaged but .... No more pain and I can function now!

I'm quite lucky to only suffer with the pain when I'm actually on my period which are very irregular any way but not sure if that is linked to Endo. I get severe pain on my left hand side of my pelvis and waves of nausea. I also get shooting pains up my back passage and pain when opening my bowels and the urge to go more often. I also become very tender down below and the sensation that I need to push. I also experience uncomfortable sex depending on the position and depth. Lower Back pain a few weeks after my period (assuming it's ovulation) I had an ultrasound that showed cysts on both my ovaires (more so on the left where I experience most of the pain) I'm due to have a diagnosistic laproscopy on the 4th of January and the surgeon has said she will remove any endo if there is any and I'll be having a dye test to check my tubes xx

Hi!

I had a lap done in September during which i had a big rectovaginal nodule removed a long with a lot of superficial widespread endo all in my pelvis.

The rectovaginal endo caused horrible stabbing pain deep inside of me whenever i was on my period. it was quite far back and low down. It wasn't constant, just every so often it felt like i was being jabbed at with a knife. It would last a couple of seconds and then go away again. It was made worse when i sat in certain positions. I thankfully I only had this when i was actually on my period though.

My surgeon told me that my nodule probably had been growing for the past four years, however about a year before the op it began to eat through the bowel wall. I know this because it started irritating the bowel, causing gut spasm symptoms. This caused severe cramping and upset stomach symptoms. I would get really clammy and dizzy while this happened. i wont go into detail but it was truly horrible. It got so severe that I ended up in hospital in the middle of night because of the pain.

The pain and spasms were so bad that I stopped eating when i was on my period to avoid them, causing me to loose loads of weight in a matter of months. My GP prescribed me a gentle type of calorie drink that is usually given to people with GI diseases which thankfully worked for me. (if anyone wants to know more about this feel free to message me!)

So yeah, that is how it presented for me. Obviously everyone is totally different and symptoms vary. I hope this helps though.
