Hi All
thought I'd update you all with what has been happening and to ask a few questions too...
Sooooooo after what feels like a lifetime (actually 2 years!) I'm finally having my second Lap... if you look back at my introduction and following posts you'll see the long slog I've been through to get to this stage. I've been seen and will be treated by an Endo Specialist unit London and I can't rate them highly enough really... they have been fantastic! I have had two appointments first with a consultant and second with the deputy registrar. The first was an ok appointment, poking prodding questions, tests (MRI, blood)... the second with the deputy registrar was a bit more in depth - it was seen on the MRI that I have thickening of the uterosacral ligament (possibly/probably) endo... He agreed then and there for a lap... I got an appointment with the specialist nurse... she was lovely - questions on wellbeing, mental state and all that jazz, second appointment with her, just a check up to see how I was doing answering any questions I had on surgery... excellent care! I had my pre-op the other day.... very thorough! blood tests, swabs... I mentioned that i am aware of my 'funny' heartbeat sometimes and they immediately sent me for an ECG - just to be sure... funnily enough I was right, i do have a funny heartbeat... it has a name Right Bundle Branch Block (RBBB) sounds terrifying but quite normal.. I have a wonky electrical system in my heart that causes a pause (tiny) every now and then... It was also discovered that i have a low resting heart rate... apparently a sign of a healthy heart! Anyway I digress....
long and short of it i am very happy with the pre - op care that I have been given so far.. lets see how the op and post op care goes.
Beside the endo problems I'm still under the care of a gastroenterologist because I keep having elevated ALT (liver enzymes)... apparently I'm ANCA positive so they are sending me to a rhumatologist for further investigation into autoimmune diseases... has anyone else had these sorts of problems? are they linked to endo?
Surgery on uterosacral ligament.... how long will it hurt for? also what kind of pain and where?
Any advice for anything I mentioned above?
here we go.... 11/12/15 is S-Day!!!! (Surgery Day)
Take care ladies and I'll see you on the other side.
