End and coeliac

I've recently been keeping a diary of my food intake and I have found certain foods have triggered the pains but I am also still getting my very heavy irregular periods. Does anyone know if coeliac is found in those with endo? Thanks X Demi x

Hi,

I had Endo inside my bowels in 2009 and had bowel resection done, since then I have had problems eating since. Whenever I ate anything I would be in pain. I have had numerous operations due to Endo and have recently been diagnosed with celiac disease,in was told it's probably likely due to the 1st bowel operation I had which damaged my insides.

Have you had any tests done to confirm celiac disease?

Sweety.

Thanks for replying. Not as of yet I'm going to mention it to my consultant. I have a severe flare up of dermatitis aswell and sometimes when I eat I have my pelvic pain then have to go to the toilet quick but then sometimes its period related. It's all a mystery to me it all seems to be related if that makes sense. Quite worried as I feel like people think I'm a hypercondriact. thanks Demi x

Request an endoscopy test and blood test to see if you have celiac disease. So many members of my family kept saying it's all in my head and that would make me really depressed that no one believed me until I had the test done, now everyone believes me and leaves me alone now.

I wondered that myself and my bowel surgeon agreed to test me (as I think he knew I'd keep harassing him about it ;-) he said the only clear diagnostic test was via an endoscopy which takes a sample of your stomach lining. I had this done but it was negative - however I still think I have gluten intolerance due to the endo so just don't eat it!

Hi Karen,

I had endoscopy test done and it too came back negative. I then had a blood test done and it came back positive that I have celiac disease and dairy intolerance. I avoid soya and red meat too.

Hi there I've had the same problem however I may still have endo in the bowel I found the endo diet works really well although it's hard and a massive lifestyle change i really notice when I eat dairy wheat gluten and sometimes even certain chicken (learnt the hard way not to buy cheap) however the only problem is if you end up eating something you shouldn't in my case a cheese burger you really notice it I spent several days in agony and felt nauseous and fatigued just starting to get better again now and it wasn't just the beef burger I've had it with coffee chicken and a few other things but the change that you have when you stick to it is so worth it and at the least helps you manage it until in my case I find out if I need another lap it has been proven that women with ending do have a sensitivity with wheat and gluten And dairy if you do a bit of research you'll find out you don't have to go very far to see many ladies have been in the same position. Hope this helps xxx
