Depo injection

Has anyone had the depo injection to help with endo? Did it help and did you have any side affects?

Hi, I'm on week 8 of my first injection. It made me feel pretty rough mood-wise for the first 3-4 weeks, then I had a 10 day painful heavy period. I can't say it's made much difference but it is still early days I guess. Sorry not very helpful but my experience so far.

I am not having the depo at present but have been on it twice in my twenties and thirties. From memory my hormones were all over the place during the first 12 weeks and I had a heavy period during that first 12 weeks I also had breast tenderness but this all settled down once I had had my second shot. The first time I stopped them was to try for a baby and it took 18 months for my periods to return and the second time I stopped them because I started to get stomach pains towards the end of each cycle this could of been linked to endo no was sure. I think like with everything our bodies all react differently to different medications and I think you just need to give it a go to see if it suits you. I know weight gain is another worrying issue people have but I didn't gain any weight I think if you eat healthy and exercise regularly this shouldn't be an issue.
