Hrt after hysterectomy and endo removal

Hi

I'm 6 weeks post op having full hysterectomy after having endo removed from womb bowel and abdomen. I was put on oestrogel after a week and I felt better that ever but now after weeks using it I have pains in my knees lower back left leg and my incisions feel sore again ..I feel like I have had a big come down..my sister has had all the same and told me to persivere with it ...but now I read how oestrogen can feed endo to return and am worried. .although my surgeon assured me they hot rid of everything and it wouldn't come back...I have always took herbal medicine and was really reluctant to take hrt in the first instance but my surgeon who's a top London specialist insisted I take it...I'm so confused now
