Need a sanity check before my GP Appt.

So, I am going to my GP on Friday to discuss my ultrasound/depo injection/X-ray results. I am currently suffering with, all left sided, hip pain (when I walk especially going up and down stairs), leg pain radiating down mainly the outside towards my knee when walking and on stairs, sciatic type pain in left buttock. The back pain becomes worse in bed.

The ultrasound showed 'nothing untoward', no cysts etc (according to the scanning lady) and things are reasonably free moving.

Depo injection (on week 6) has made no difference to the pain just made me bleed like i've never bled before.

X-Ray on hip and back showed only expected wear and tear for my age.

I am 48, had a lap 4.5 years ago where it showed choc cysts and 'some' endo was 'burnt' off, I wasn't given any medication or further advice and was relatively symptom free for just over 2 years before all the left sided niggles crept back in and are now constant.

My periods are fairly normal, quite a long cycle but I have a monthly 4-5 day bleed which varies month to month, sometimes heavy sometimes light. My mid-month is excruciating and the cramping niggles last until the period and for a couple of days afterwards, always left side.

So, the lady who did my ultrasound seemed to think the endo has probably spread and/or I have adhesions.

Is this enough to insist on a referral to a specialist endo centre, I know they will try and fob me off with general Gynae again which I don't think did me any favours last time in terms of proper treatment.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, maybe its something else???

I do find it odd that my pain is constant, not cycle related any more

Your symptoms sound very similar to mine. I've just been diagnosed with endometriosis. Had an mri - was told nothing untoward just a small fibroid. I get almost constant pain in my left hip. Lower back joins in when it feels like it. I'm seeing my Dr on Fri to discuss pain relief as my gynecologist didn't prescribe me any!
