I too suffer with depression have done for 17 years only got diagnosed with Endo in April of last year and I just feel why me ,its a daily struggle with the depression its self let alone with the Endo on top , so can totaly sympathise with you 😌
Hey,
I feel the same way too. I've had several severe depressive episodes over the last few and i suffer from CFS on top of my endo symptoms. Life can be really difficult and sometimes I feel like i am overwhelmed by all these different symptoms. I'm so exhausted.
You're not alone.
But us endo girls are strong. Although it can be really horrible we keep fighting and moving forward. Just because we are ill doesn't mean we don't deserve to find happiness. Things that help me are: being around my family and friends (support network is so important) doing the small actives I can do that cheer me up (reading, films etc) and speaking to my therapist when things get bad.
Sending you lots of well wishes,
Hannah x
Hi, I was diagnosed with endo about four years ago which I found really tough to deal with. I was given the run around as most of us are and it really got me down along with other problems and soon I found that I wasn't coping at all. I went and spoke to my GP who diagnosed me with depression and anxiety.
I currently take citalopram every day which have certainly evened out my moods a little which makes day to day life a bit more manageable for both me and my poor husband!
It may be worth talking to your GP about CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). I found that it was much better than a regular therapist as you are not encouraged to dwell on the bad stuff but you are taught techniques to handle every day things that effect you.
Medication isn't for everyone and it does come with some weird side effects but I wouldn't be without them at the moment. My hope is that soon my dose will be reduced and I can use my CBT to get me through bad days.
Don't suffer in silence, there is so much help out there.
Best of luck
Beth
That sounds really horrible for you!!! Feeling tired, pain, depression seem to go hand in hand sometimes. I really struggled last year with a lot of emotions, feeling completely exhausted and in pain all the time it really upset me.
I started to go to a course that helped me think differently with depression/anxiety service and i started yoga and breathing exercises and this seem to help me so far. I still have healthproblems, but i feel calmer and in less pain. Tiredness still knocks me for 6 at certain days, but i just listem a bit more to my body and will take it easy.
Are they going to remove the cysts? Having something on a ovary can cause problems with your hormones, because they can be blocked. Hormones can affect hugely how you think, feel and your energy levels.
What are the Gps doing at the moment for you and do you get help for your depression?
I hope things will get sorted for you and let us know how you get on!
