So I have just had my lap and the doctor has been round to discuss the findings. I do have endometriosis as I thought. He said its not a lot but its in the pouch of douglas. He seemed to say because it wasn't a lot he wasn't convinced that was causing my pain but I always thought the amount of endometriosis and pain didn't always relate. Anyone else know? I also seem to have adhesions between my bowel and the stomach wall on the right which is where most of my pain is so he said that could definitely explain it. He did ask if I'd ever had an infection like PID because he said it is usually from that but as I haven't I assume its from endometriosis. Other than that I had a lot of fluid in the pouch of Douglas. They've sent some off for testing but he said it wouldn't be from anything serious. He did mention it could have been from a ruptured cyst. Has anyone else had this? Xx

Finally some answers...
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
They were hoping it was going to be the female gynae who is an Endo specialist. I was really annoyed to find out a few minutes before my surgery that it was a general gynae.
He said I'm now going to have a follow up appointment with the female Endo specialist which is good and he said I'll need to discuss it with her but that she may recommend a further surgery to laser off the Endo and separate my bowel from the abdominal wall. I'm waiting for an appointment now but when I see her i'm going to insist that my surgeon is an Endo expert. I assume they should see at this stage if there's more endo on the pouch of douglas when they start treating it.
Thanks for all your previous help lindle. I think its only because of all the information you've given me that I've even managed to get to this stage so soon. I've managed to get a diagnosis at just over a year of the real pain starting which from hearing other women stories seems to be a miracle and I think its only because I've been proactive and pushy!
