I saw my doctor last week and explained how unhelpful my gynaecologist was at the follow up from my op. I asked about being referred to a specialist centre...she told me she doesn't have that power?! and I'd have to ask the hospital to refer me to one of them...I didn't think that's how it worked
any help would be appreciated xx

Don't quote me on this but for me I think the GP referred me to Gyne and Gyne referred me to specialist. Not to say that the GP 'doesn't have that power' though? Maybe look up specific centre and ask your GP to refer you to that particular clinic and see if that helps?
My gynecologist/consultant at my hospital will be referring me to Chelsea and Westminster.
Although she did say there was no need and that she was more than capable. it was only when I pulled out the list of accredited hospitals that she realised that I kind of knew what I was talking about.
Hope you get referred to the hospital of your choice x
Thank you. I've read both of those posts. The symptoms regarding pouch of Douglas are me to a T at the moment I have every one of them. My first lap they said nothing could be removed because something 'technical' went wrong which I wasn't told about until my 3rd appointment after. The treatment from that hospital hasn't been great from the word go.
Hi, your GP is incorrect. I've just been referred to a new consultant at a specialist centre by my GP. Tell them that you're not content with the treatment options being offered by current consultant, and I think it may be helpful to specify the specialist (or specialists) that you want to see.
