Simple answer is yes. For many it is inevitable unless it is thoroughly excised and even then unfortunately it can reoccur and women are back to square one. X

I'm in a similar position to yourself. I'm scheduled in for a diagnostic laparoscopy towards the end of August but based on my symptoms, the gynaecologist is pretty sure endo is what I have. I've always suffered cramps in my lower abdomen with severe swelling. However, I was recently signed off work for 4 weeks due to the endo and the emotional and physical exhaustion that accompanied it. Because i haven't been distracted by work and other things, i think I've been more aware of my symptoms and i am also having pain further up my body. I've experienced pain in my chest around my heart, pain in the centre just below my rib cage and on my right side underneath my rib cage as well as on the left of my abdomen right on my waist. I also sometimes feel that my breathing is laboured for no reason.

My pre-op is scheduled for 11th August so I'm going to bring all of this up then. I've thought about going back to the doctor but i don't know how much good it would do. They must be sick seeing me...

I know from what I've read that endo can spread-lungs, diaphragm etc, but I'm not sure how the symptoms of those cases present.

I'd also be grateful to hear from anyone else that has suffered similar symptoms or knows how/if it's related to endo.

How are you dealing with the pain? It sounds like you suspect your endo has returned-are you currently seeing a gynaecologist?

Well that's crap to hear sorry for you I no how har it is I had a lacraposcapy last November and my endo returned a month after my gynaecologist has gave me options to try and Iv tried all of them but one which is the cool and im havin it fitted tomorrow the pains been over the iv been really struggling but because I'm getting pains aswell as my pelvic and admin im getting pains in my chest shoulder under my ribs and waiste im also worried about my endo spreading to my lungs but I spoke to the doctor an they didn't seem bothered but I'm going to speak to the doctor im seeing tomorrow when I get my coil fitted and im Gonna as for a second opinion because I want it looking into how you been coping with the pain have you got a decent pain killers

Yeah, i think perseverance and getting a second opinion is the best way to go.

I have an anti inflammatory called Naproxene and codeine for the pain. Unfortunately the codeine irritates my ibs so i end up bloated and constipated so i also have things like buscopan, peppermint capsules and something else to help bowel movements. Hate feeling like I'm rattling around with all these pills though. :(

Let me know how you get on today getting your coil fitted. Someone my partner works with had endo and she said the coil really helped her so fingers crossed is a solution for you! Good luck!

How are you feeling today? Has the coil settled at all or are you still in pain?

My period has just started so I'm having a rough couple of days, loaded up on painkillers and sleeping on and off. :(
