Question. I'm due to how Endo removed 22 January 15. From reading most post does it make a difference ? I know everyone is different but I would like to know anyone's story on how it went for them. X

Endo removed, does it make a difference ?
For me not much yet, but I am hoping that most people who post on here receive treatment, get better and then forget all about it! Perhaps the only ones who keep coming back are those of us still struggling. Had mine 3 months ago, so we'll see. Good luck.
I guess that really depends on a lot of factors. In my experience yes it reduced my pain significantly after having endometriomas removed from both ovaries. Then with the pill afterwards and being in a stable less stressful work situation.
I hope it helps ease your symptoms.
Hello. Having had 2 laparoscopies now to remove patches of endo and endometriomas, I must admit that I always feel better after the op but then have also been on some form of hormone treatment straight after aswell - first time Zoladex for 6 months followed by mini pill and second time beginning of December with a Mirena coil. So in theory and initially you should find some improvement with your symptoms but then you may need to look at a longer term treatment to help keep them at bay. All the best x
Thank you ladies x
I think it also depends on how they deal with it during the lap. It can be "burnt" away, but this does mean that if it's deeply infiltrated it could develop again as my understanding is it never totally goes away but can improve with laps and treatment to stop yr periods, hence no monthly bleed, hence no re growth of the endo. If a specialist endom surgeon is doing yr lap they should excise it, cutting it all out basically. Which is meant to be the better option of the two. I have it quite badly on my bowel too, so they couldn't cut it and remove it completely as my bowel almost definitely would have been damaged, and as they knew I wanted to start IVF because I was 41 at the time, they didn't want to risk me having a temporary, or worse permanent, bag and bowel damage.
It's hard to take in what they're saying after the lap as yr all dozey and dopey from the anaesthetic so try and make sure someone is there to ask exactly what happened and what they did in the lap. And write it down. Cos you do forget and it's hard to remember medical terminology too! They should do a follow up letter anyway saying what they did, but it's important a partner or parent is there to ask the surgeon questions. They are pretty good and try and come and see you when you have someone with you.
On the whole most ladies do have improvement in their pain after the laps. But I do have to say my periods were still heavy and painful after my lap. But that may be the adenomyosis (which is inside the uterus)
Good luck for yr lap and take it easy afterwards for at least 2 weeks, if not more. Xx
It made a big difference to me for about 18 months until it built up again and started causing trouble. I have had two now and am asking for a third because it seems the only treatment that works!
Hi, i had all of mine removed but i had a lap on monday, its come back, and its much worse..
Removed 13 years ago, came back gradually. Another zap last week. If not TTC try the hormone stopper etc. Its management rather than cure but things can be improved a lot with the right treatments, diet, exercise etc. Good luck
