Hey everyone, I was wondering if any of you have ever been to a support group and if so what can I expect of it? I have it on Thursday for the first time and am nervous about going so would appreciate some advice. Thanks

Hi

I've been to a group meeting and was fortunate enough to meet an endo specialist who was at the meeting too answering your questions. I found it massivley helped me as was so nice to be around others who have endo and know what I was going through. Everyone introduced themselves and said a bit about when they were diagnosed etc and then we got to ask questions and discuss things with eachother and the endo specialist. I came away so much happier and found I got a lot out of the meeting. Don't feel nervous honestly it a great place to go and feel at ease and meet some lovely people who are experiencing the same issues as you. Enjoy :0)

I have to get my husband to drive me to mine because its an hour away but I love going - feels so nice to be around others who know how it feels to have endo. I still continued to do my own research but this doesn't take away from the amazing emotional support that our group leader gives us or the friends I have made. Hopefully you'll find yours as welcming & worthwhile. X

Thank you so much for putting my mind at ease. I'm only 20 and I feel like a lot of people don't take me seriously about it so I get really nervous about speaking about it to most people.

I would really like to be able to go to a support group. How did you find out about the one you are going to? x

I found mine on endometriosis-uk.org/suppor...

I had a panic attack and ended up not going, hopefully next time I'll have the courage to go as I really regret it now.

Good evening ladies!

We do also run online support groups if you prefer not to venture out. You can sign up for these by completing the online enquiry form on the Endometriosis UK website:

endometriosis-uk.org/online...

Alternatively, we have a confidential freephone helpline manned by volunteers that be reached on:

0808 808 2227.

I hope this helps.

Take care,

Simonetta
