Hi Ladies
Quick question, i have been on the Yasmin pill, after my laparotomy without taking any breaks for 3 mths. Is that incorrect? as in, is it an ostrogen pill (excuse my spelling) and its bad for endometriosis?
Thanks

It is a combi pill.... the way to check is to look for the word estradiol in any ingredients. It can be used back to back to reduce the number of periods you have in a year.
There are longer term methods available too which don't contain oestrogen or estradiols, but they take longer to work as they reduce the menstrual lining over a few months hopefully to the point where they stop periods.
Yasmin is not great for endo because you still have to have a period every now and then to shed away the build up of menstrual lining that has formed, but as a starting point after surgery it has its benefits.
See how you get on with it, and if you kind of get used to not having periods then that would be the next step - switching to a long term option.
Mirena Coil - 5 years
Skyla coil 3 years
Nexplanon arm implants 3 years
Depo - Provera injections every 3 months
and so on.
