I'm finding it really hard: Hi again ladies... - Endometriosis UK
I'm finding it really hard
Keep going back! I struggled for about 6 months before one of my GPs finally listened and helped. Theyre must be something they can do or some advise they can give. Hope you get sorted soon x
HI, sorry your'e struggling. I completely understand, I too feel like nothing is being done for me either. I have suffered with endo since I was 10, I'm now 51, and still I struggle with the pain every month. I'm hoping the menopause will be an end to it. I think the only way to make yourself understood is to be blunt, refuse to leave the clinic until they offer you something positive in the way of treatment, what will work for you. State exactly what you go through each month, hold nothing back. Don't be polite and try and save the doctors blushes. Just lay it all on the table, then be blunt and say "Well, what can you do to help me?". Don't be fobbed off, demand something. Try that next time. Let me know how you get on. I'm waiting for a gyny appointment, I've been put to the bottom of the list, because I couldn't make the last appt, I was in too much pain to get there.

Oh that's not good juee and I'm going threw the menopause and iv had no relief from that so because I have had a full hysterectomy they do fob me off alot and say it cant be as bad as I say it is but I'm determined this time that they will do something for me as I cant go threw this for much longer and I hope u get things sorted for yourself there is nothing worse than pain xx
This seems to be a genral thing for people with endometriosis which is so unfair. Last night I was in hospital with pain and a doctor told me 'every woman gets pain like this all you do is take painkillers and get on with it'. I was so angry she had no idea how I was feeling and clearly has never suffered with endometriosis or cysts. I think my next plan of action is to fill out the diary they have on the endometriosis uk website and take it with me everywhere so they have some understanding. I think that would be good for you too, otherwise family that are nurses have told me I just need to keep on and show how unhappy you are with what they are giving you. I know its difficult when if you're anything like me you have to struggle through tears to get your message across to anyone but I think if we just show we're not going to back down and show its not 'just period pain' then hopefully they'll get things done. But I'm totally with you, I feel utterly frustrated and very alone too I think we just have to keep soldiering on untill they agree we need help x
