Hi Beckie84, I would just wait for the pain killers to kick in and keep yourself topped up every couple of hours, The other thing I find helps is a soak in the bath with some bubble bath and chocolate defo..

Sorry I can't suggest anything more helpful but to be honest nothing really helps on days like that just hope that tomorrow won't feel as bad. X

Have you got a tens machine? It's the only thing I've ever found calms my pain on a bad day! Might be worth a try.? They aren't cheap though! Hope it eases soon x

hi :) sorry to hear this :( i use a tens machine, 2 or 3 hot water bottles on my tummy and back and sitting in a bath which is as hot as you can take it. Then its just waiting for the pain to go. Unfortunately its difficult to use all that heat when its so hot out! Try to keep moving too :) hope you feel better soon xx

I've personnaly never found anything that takes the pain away but hot bath, hot water bottle, codine PJ's and bed is the only thing I find helps! I have heard that taking your pain killers in advance of the pain starting is supposed to work as it stops the pain signals from getting through in the first place. However I don't tend to do this as the codine makes me feel sick, dizzy and drowsy (I can't take anti-inflammatories). Hopefully you get on with it better than me.

Also talking to other people going through the same thing on this forum is a massive stress reliever! :)

Hope your pain eases soon xx

Hi Bekie, I have started the 'menopause' injection and one of the things it can do is make the pain worse in the first couple of months before it gets better, so hang on in there hun.

I always use hot water bottles to help cope with pain (as well as co-codomol) but when really severe I try to distract myself as well with a task that requires concentration - doesn't take the pain away but helps to cope (I usually end up playing endless games of sudoku....)

Thankyou so much for your message I am today fighting the pain and combatting my housework that should take my mind of it xxx

It's not easy to manage I know but if we give in then the Endo wins? Think my determination not to let it win also helps (admittedly only at times...). I would also say leave the housework and find a fun activity lol

Yeah I am very determined not to let it win us women are strong and we can conquer this it's just awful on our down days the pain is awful it just makes it worse when the medical team say we just have to wait see how things go and just keep taking pain relief but I have to get through this for my children I won't let it do this to myself my children and my partner it's really helped just having people on here to chat to who do understand xx

Sorry you are suffering so much pain.If you are on GNRH drugs the worsened pain is due to the flare stage which can take 2-3 months to settle but is well worth persevereing with as after that it will stop periods and hopefully the pain.Everyone reacts differently though, but I was one of the lucky ones who had no periods and no pain after 2 months Decapeptyl.

Search pain relief in the green bar above as there is lots of info on pain relief methods.Bit go back to your Gp and ask for better pain relief as codeine is fairly mild and many of us are on much stronger [pain relief. There are lots of combinations you can take.

Personally I use a combination of dihydrocodeine, tramadol, gabapentin, buscopan as well as my trusty hot water bottles, hot baths with epsom salts, magnesium oil sray( magnesium helps cramps).I did get things to make a castor oil pack but haven't got around to trying it.Hope this helps.Sendimng you a big hug.
