We ask that people do not recommend/talk about specific Drs on the forum. However, you can find information on BSGE centres in your area on their website (bsge.org.uk/), they have specialist endometriosis centres around the country and their aim is to improve standards treating women with gynaecological problems. You can seek a referral through your GP. I hope this helps you find someone to give you the best care.
Be sure your GP knows that stage 3/4 must only be treated in a tertiary BSGE centre and referral is direct and not through the usual E-referral route as it is commissioned by NHS England and not the local CCG.
If it's just a GP your after for general care. But who also know about endo so you can get referrals to the right gynaecologists etc. Then I suggest calling your local GP offices and asking if they have anyone who has extra training in gynaecology, or maybe check their website for this info. That's how I found the GP who finally referred me to get my surgery.
It probably depends more on the GP and Gynae or endo specialist you see. I guess older endo clinics may have more treatments and surgery performed.
But as mentioned above you want a GP with some sort of experience in gynaecology to actually care and do the referrals. And an endometriosis clinic that have a team that can perform laps, etc.
The endo clinic I’ve been seen by has different doctors. I had a terrible experience last year with one of the doctors being rude, pushy, and not answering my questions. But this year I’m being seen by a different doctor in the same clinic who is more sensitive and explain things. The other one has an impressive cv, but lacks on other things. So it depends a lot on the person who sees you. And if you want an impressive career or someone you resonate with.
